Whilst the greens and fairways are in great condition, there is still plenty of clean up to be done on the fringes. Members who can assist are asked to volunteer some of their time to help with the cleanup.
Mark Townsend fired 77 off the stick to win the A Grade medal on 70 nett, draining birdies on the 7th and 15th, shooting 83 off the stick. Be beat Jeff Wiscombe, who also carded 70 nett on a countback, nailing a birdie on the 11th in shooting 83 off the stick. Promising junior Billy Evans 67 nett won the B Grade medal, firing 81 off the stick, carding birdies on the 8th and 10th. Shane Gaffey 68 nett runner-up, 85 off the stick.
Carnarvon Golf Club visitor Jonathon Arane 70 nett won C Grade could not claim the medal won by runner-up Chris Gill 71 nett, 91 scratch with four pars.
Travis Millis won the 4th pin, 7th Bryan Salvestro, 8th Justin Robertson, 11th Daniel Meadows, 15th Andrew Romagnolo, 16th Martin Sweeney.
Another bad day weather-wise on Sunday with lightning and heavy rain causing play to be suspended for 90 minutes before players could complete their rounds.
With 64 players competing in the First Round of the Brady Paint and Texture Red Gum Plate, a reduced field of 31 players, contested a medley single stableford in two grades.
Chris Fuchs 37 points won Div.1 ahead of Rob Trembath 36 points on a countback over Peter Henderson.
Craig Dredge 39 points best in Div.2 ahead of Shane Gaffey 34 points. Chris Fuchs Eagled the 17th. Tom Wright won the 7th pin.
The Final Round results of the Brady Paint & Texture Match Play appear elsewhere in this edition. The Second Round must be completed by Sunday, February 6.
The Scramble is back, the first two rounds will be played on Sunday, February 13. Shotgun start at 10.00am. Registration only on the online link "mixed Open" contact the Pro Shop on 69623742. The Mobil Summer 5's kicked off last week. Contact the Pro Shop to enter teams. Today's event along with Sunday are both single stablefords, a single stroke on Saturday for the February medal.
The veterans played a single stableford last Thursday with 32 players in two grades. Tony McBride 39 points own Div.1 ahead of Roy Calabria 38 points. Ray Mead 38 points best in Div.2 from Bill Wilkinson 35 points.

The hot scores continued into C Grade Marc Tucker 40 points taking the win over Dan McGreal 38 points.
