Griffith Golf Club pro James Lethlean said there was one positive to take from last year's event being cancelled as it allowed them to have a head start in planning for this year's event.
"It was disappointing last year was cancelled with the pandemic," he said.
"We were pretty lucky that most of it was organised for last year before it got canned. It is all fitting into place, so hopefully, we can get some good weather, and it should be good."

While numbers are slightly down in terms of pros for this year's event, Lethlean is still predicting a strong field.
"I think at the moment we have about 50-odd pros and then probably 120-130 amateurs and sponsors," he said.
"Pro numbers are probably down a little bit only because of scheduling; there are other Australasian events on at the same time.
"It has probably effected numbers a little bit, but it will still be a quality field.
"It is going to be another great day; we have the sponsors afternoon on Sunday as well. It is always a great tournament, and I can't see it being any different this year."
During the outset of the pandemic, golf numbers rose as it was the only sport still going, and Lethlean hopes they are able to build on the rise in popularity.
"The key now is too keep people interested and keep events like this going ahead," he said.
This event will also be Lethlean's last as pro at the Griffith Golf Club as he leaves Griffith to head to Adelaide.
