A further 800 megalitres of water will also be added to the lake before Christmas, though water levels are still expected to remain low.
Project officer of the Lake Wyangan and Catchment Management Committee, Tom Mackerras, said those participating in recreational activities on the lake should remain cautious, despite the additional water and relaxed alert level.
"The extra water is good news. However, the water level is still relatively low so boaters and users of Personal Watercraft should be mindful of unmarked submerged objects, particularly in the shallower parts of the Lake," he said.
Mr Mackerras also urged Griffith residents to always wear life jackets while boating on the lake, and to not go on the water while under the influence of alcohol.
He said the low water level meant residents should expect some difficulty while launching their boats, and to exercise caution while doing so.
Those fishing in the lake should also ensure they do not release any carp they catch back into the water, he said.
New signs are set to be installed around the lake, which will change according to the latest information on blue-green algae levels.

A red alert had previously been in place, after an increased amount of blue-green algae was detected on October 27.
Extra water was also been added into the lake in August and September, which Council said is part of a long-term project to restore the health of the lake.
The alert level at the lake can change at any time, so anyone heading out should check the Griffith City Council website for the latest updates.
