Griffith City Council added another 277 megalitres during the month into the lake, supplemented by rain during the month.
"We understand the community have expressed concern over the low volumes of water at the lake, however it has been part of the project council has undertaken to improve the water quality," Lake Wyangan and catchment management project officer Tom Mackerras said.
"In the coming months, more water will be added to the lake with regular testing to be carried out to monitor the water quality and any possible changes the addition will make."
Mr Mackerras said there was a long term plan for restoring the lake.
The plan included developing hydrodynamic circulation model to interpret the impact of water discharge on water quality, monitoring the volume and sediment and nutrient concentration of storm water run off, and developing a plan with Murrumbidgee Irrigation to maintain water levels suitable for recreational purposes.
