The Griffith Swans junior football and netball sides faced off over the weekend for the first round of the South West Junior Football and Netball League season.

In the football, the under 11s got proceedings underway with the Red side able to pick up a come from behind victory.
The White side got the upper hand in the first quarter to lead 20-6 at the first break before Red hit back in the second quarter to lead 26-21.
It went goal-for-goal in the third term with the Red side holding a four-point lead into the final change, and they were able to take the 7.6 (48) to 5.6 (36) victory after holding the White side goalless.
Oliver Salvestrin led the way for the White side with two goals while Ted Files, Jaxsin Brown and Bradley Whitworth kicked a goal each, while for the Red team Charlie Morel kicked three goals with Kye Campbell and Nicholas Piva kicking two each.
Files, Jaxsin Brown, Dean Suine and Tom Curran, were among the bests for White while Morel, Xavier Spiers, Lucas Torresan, Jack Webb and Nicholas Piva had strong games for the Red side.
In the under 13s, it was a tight game with four goals to Jai Kenny in the second quarter proving the difference as White came away with a 6.3 (39) to 2.4 (16) win over Red.
Jai was assisted by a host of best players including Bede Kenny, Will Vaessen, Christian Callcut and Alexander Forlico.
First gamer Xavier Peihopa-Smith made a name for himself as a hard-running tall forward with a strong showing in the ruck.
The red team had many good players across all lines with Jock Emery, Tom Jamieson, Keiran Casey, Lachlan Emery, Zac Spiers and Lochlan Painting the standouts.
In the under 15s, White was able to pick up a convincing 19.19 (133) to 2.2 (14) victory.
Billy Evans led the way with seven goals for the White side, while Patrick Payne kicked four goals and James Rogerson and Ben Fattore chipped in with three and two goals respectively.
Aaron Clifford and Bailey Drinkwater were the goal kickers for the White.
Meanwhile in the junior netball, Griffith Red picked up the first win of the day with a 26-8 win in the under 11s.
In the under 13s it was the Griffith White side who took the bragging rights with a 21-6 win over Red while in the final game Griffith Red picked up a 52-28 win in a high scoring game in the under 15s.
This weekend will see Griffith Red take on local rivals Leeton-Whitton Crows who made an excellent start to their season.
Griffith White will look to continue their good start when they travel to Narrandera to face the Eagles.
Both sides will be in action on Saturday.
