Jason Magoci lit up the course in the final round, firing three-under par 68 to card 43 points to snatch a win on a countback over Martin Sweeney, both carding two-round totals of 76, Magoci 33-43, Sweeney 38-38.
There were 103 players in Saturday's single stableford. Jason Magoci also won A Grade firing three-under-par 68 for 43 points, Martin Sweeney second on 38 points, birdie on the 12th.
Rob Trembath shot the lights out in B Grade, firing 78 off the stick to amass 46 points, nailing birdies on the 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th in carding 25 points out, Mike Schwartz second.
Darcy McDermott also carded a big number, 44 points to easily win C Grade from Chris Gill 37points.
A solid field of 56 players contested a single Versus Par on Sunday. Tuiru Phillip all square won A Grade on a countback over Gerry Cox. Byron James +3 best in B Grade ahead of Andrew Oates +1. In C Grade, Garry Argus days best score of +4, Peter Den Houting +2 second.
The Board has announced that the Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 4th at 8.00pm. Nominations for Board positions should be posted as soon as possible.
The Annual Report is on the Notice Board and the web site, and a lot of work needs to be done to bring the Club back into the black.
Junior golf clinics from 5-16 years are on Sundays at 9.00am. Ladies Friday 4.00pm. Veterans Tuesday at 2.00pm. Numbers are limited to ten for each session.
The men are playing a single stroke on Wednesday and single stablefords on Saturday and Sunday.
The veterans played a two-grade single stableford last Thursday with 33 players. Graham Sibraa 43 points won Div.1 over James Browne. Keith Woodbridge 36 points won Div. 2 From Don Catanzariti 35 points.
The Veterans Week of Golf will be held again this year in the last week of October. Thursday's event is again a single stableford.
A field of 62 players contested last Wednesdays single stableford. Mike Morrell 41 points won A Grade on a countback over Sam Ranney 41 points. Robin Salvestro 38 points best in B Grade also on a countback over Alffranchi 38 points. John Wallace 36 points won C Grade ahead of Byron James 35 points on a countback over Andrew Grace.
The ladies played a team stableford last Wednesday. Winners were Yvonne Couper, Robyn Hoare, Julie McWilliam and Annie Hicks 126 points, Liz Graham, Kath King, Cherie Eade, Donna Dossettor second.
Only 18 players contested Saturdays single stableford. Lorraine Taylor 35 points won Div 1, Yvonne Couper 34 points second. Jenni Fisher 39 points son Div 2.from Shirley Carter. Vouchers to 31 points. Dale Spence had a Hole in One on the 7th.
The ladies played the first round of their 4 BBB Stroke Championship on Sunday, and Lesley Bock and Val Browne best on 63 nett from Kay Dalton and Dorian Radue.
