Coro took on Leagues in the battle between first and third, and it looked like it was going to be a tough day for the Panthers as they lost Teao Woetai (7) and Gurjot Singh (0) to the bowling of Nick Witherspoon.
Deep Patel (17), Manish Patel (17) and Morgan Tiere (28) were able to get their side into a position for a defendable total, but Witherspoon's (4/30) and Rob Rand's (2/19) tight bowling limited the Panthers to 9/99.
Jack Hutchinson (15) and Matt Signor (24) had their side on the way to victory before the bowling of Alex Robinson (2/13), Liam Warren (2/32), and Manish Patel (2/24) brought the game back to the edge.
With Coro needing five runs with one wicket in hand, Witherspoon (7*) was able to hit the winning runs with 1.3 overs remaining.
In the Friday night game, Diggers were able to come away with a seven-wicket win over Exies Eagles.
Rajesh Johar (10) and Jimmy Patel (14) made a solid start at the top of the order before Mark Brown (4/32) rolled through the top order of the Eagles.
Zac Dart (11), Gavin Woods (12), Peter West (15), Braydn Challis (11) and Ryan Bock (10) got starts for the Eagles, but the bowling of Meli Ranitu and Matt Peruzzi (2/19) restricted the Eagles to 114.
With storms brewing to the west, Diggers were looking to waste no time.
