GRIFFITH
NOW CANCELLED: Backyard Ashes
Griffith Pioneer Park Museum is set to host the first event in Griffith's Australia Day program, with an outdoor cinema screening of the ultimate Aussie film, 'Backyard Ashes' on Tuesday January 25.
The movie is a story about that closely follows the bitter sporting rivalry between the Aussies and the Poms, but places the action smack bang in the middle of suburban Australia, in the backyard of our lead character Dougie.
Adults $15, children under 12 $10, family (2A + 3C) $30. Tickets include BBQ dinner, drinks can be purchased at the bar.

Griffith City Council in conjunction with the Griffith Local Aboriginal Land Council (GLALC) will this year run a Survival Day event on January 26 to acknowledge and respect the Wiradjuri people of our great nation.
The event is the first of its kind in Griffith and invites community members to partake in a host of cultural activities including Didgeridoo playing, indigenous dancers, a smoking ceremony and art for elders with Kerri Weymouth, as well as other fun arts and crafts at the Griffith Regional Aquatic Centre which is also offering free entry on the day.
A free barbecue lunch will also be available alongside a DJ and a photo booth for some extra fun.
Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony
Head down to Griffith Regional Theatre for 9:30am to be seated for this years Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony.
Awards will be presented by Australia Day Ambassador Mark Warren, with entertainment provided.
Griffith's newest citizens will also officially receive their Australian citizenship, an occasion of excitement for many!

CARRATHOOL SHIRE COUNCIL
Family Fun Australia Day
Australia Day awards will be held at Carrathool Hall from 10am with the Family Fun Day commencing from 11am on Wednesday January 26.
Keynote speakers include Australia Day Ambassador and Australia Water Polo Player Elysha O'Neill.
There will also be a free luncheon, water slide and laser tag alongside live music courtesy of Jeff Gardner.
MURRUMBIDGEE SHIRE COUNCIL
Events Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to ongoing coronavirus concerns, Murrumbidgee Shire Council made the tough decision to cancel this years Australia Day awards ceremony.
The council elected to cancel the ceremony and other Australia Day events at an extraordinary meeting due to fears around the Omicron outbreak and the risks related to large events.
The traditional visit from the Australia Day ambassador has also been changed, but not yet cancelled. It's currently planned to have this year's ambassador Viv Kartsounis make an address online, discussing her life and charity work.
Summer Break events at the Coleambally and Jerilderie swimming pools have also been postponed and will be held at a later date.
