The event is the first of its kind in Griffith and invites community members to partake in a host of cultural activities including Didgeridoo playing, indigenous dancers, a smoking ceremony and art for elders with Kerri Weymouth, as well as other fun arts and crafts at the Griffith Regional Aquatic Centre which is also offering free entry on the day.
A free barbecue lunch will also be available alongside a DJ and a photo booth for some extra fun.
Griffith GLALC Chairperson Vickie Simpson and CEO Stephen Young encouraged all locals to attend the day of festivities and fun.
"This event provides an opportunity to acknowledge and learn about our past so indigenous and non indigenous people can formulate stronger relations," Ms Simpson said.
Mr Young said the key to building stronger relationships started with respect.
"Yes, it's about respect, but it is also about understanding, learning and working together for a better future for us all."
