The game was originally scheduled to be played at Exies No 1 however, the wet weather leading into the weekend meant the curators were unable to prepare a pitch, and the game was shifted.
Much of the side had played limited cricket in the lead up to the first game due to the wet weather the region has been experiencing at the start of the cricket season.
The CAW side won the toss and elected to send the Murrumbidgee side into bat, and that looked to be the right decision.
Eduoard Grigg and Brad Koetz tried to get their side off to a solid start, however, with the score on 18, the dismissal of Grigg (3) triggered a collapse.
Koetz (13), Jake Scott (0), Ben Signor (1) and Kyle Bennett (0) fell without troubling the scorers and see the Murrumbidgee side sitting on 6/23.
Luke Naumann (35) and Hugh Jenkins (31) were able to lead a bit of a fightback, but when Jenkins was dismissed, it was the beginning of the end.
Rhauri MacLeod (1), Noah Gaske (9) Thomas Camm (1) and Arjun Kamboj (2) failed to make an impact with the bat as their side was bowled out for 112 in the 35th over.
It was always going to be tough to defend the modest total with 50 overs in the field ahead of them, and the openers for CAW Murray looked set to help their side to victory.

The opening partnership put on 58 runs before Kamboj (1/19) made the opening breakthrough, but it didn't slow the momentum.
CAW was able to pass the total one wicket down, but with the Gorrell Cup being used as a trial for Country Colts later in the season, they continued to bat.
Naumann (1/21), Signor (1/27), Camm (1/28) and Hayden Watling (1/31) all picked up wickets, but it did little to halt the momentum from CAW Murray as they finished their 50 overs on 5/283.
The Murrumbidgee-Northern Riverina side will look to put this result behind them as they prepare to take on CAW Murray again this time in Wagga.
