Once again, rain played havoc with golf at the Griffith Golf Club with around 50mm falling on the course on Saturday, resulting in motorised carts not allowed on the course, restricting the field to 58 players in a single stableford.

The heavy going held no fears for Bryan Trembath, who fired one under par 70 to take out A Grade with 38 points. Trent Anderson 37 points runner-up 37 points, 83 off the stick.
The B Graders handled the conditions best, Alf Franchi firing 81 off the stick to take the win on 41 points but only on a countback over Grant Semmler 41 points, 85 scratch.
Trevor Cowie carded the day's top score of 43 points to take out C Grade ahead of Mark O'Connor, who made his first podium finish, runner-up on 39 points. Tony Catanzariti won the 7th pin, Luke De Valentin 8th, Jason Magoci 15th, Max Turner 16th.
The Final of the Handiskins competition was also played on Saturday with the four finalists vying to win the $1,200 prize money on offer.
Dean Minato was the big winner, taking the $440 jackpot on the 16th hole to finish on top with $535. Anthony Ross 2nd with $375, Warren Bock $155 and Jarrod Gale $136 in a well-contested final.
Better weather on Sunday saw motorised carts again on the course with a field of 92 players contesting a medley single stableford.
Lama Lolotonga fired 75 off the stick to take out A Grade with 43 points, ahead of Llisioni Koroi 39points.
Craig Barrington 39 points best in B Grade, Alf Franchi made it a double for the weekend, runner-up on 37 points on a countback over Barry Stapleton 37 points.
James Wythes 40 points won C Grade with Emily Christie flying one for the ladies, runner-up on 38 points.
Graham Sibraa won the 7th pin, Robert Curtis 11th, Daniel Dossetor 15th, Wayne Alpen 16th.
The Riding for Disabled golf day had to be abandoned last Friday and will now be rescheduled for later date.

Last Thursday's veterans competition was washed out however, the Rich River trip was a success, with 14 local veterans making the trip and joined with 92 Rich River veterans in a contest for the Allan King Cup.
Rich River won with an average of 30 points to 28. It will now become an annual event held in May and November each year. The veterans are holding a Bring a Friend Day on December 16th. More details later. This weeks event is a single stableford. A veterans course working bee on Monday, December 6 at 9.00am.

Won by Fusi Fidow 38 points, Paul Woodland 37 points runner-up. Sim Tuitivake won the 7th pin, Alf Franchi 15th, Taoloa Toru 16th.
