The fourth-grade season got underway with a bang for both Coro Cougars and Exies Diggers who picked up big wins in the opening round.

While the Diggers didn't make the strongest start to their innings against Leagues with Seamus Maley (7) falling early but Manan Dave and Meli Ranitu got their side back on track with a 41-run partnership.
Even the dismissal of Dave (18) didn't stop the momentum from Ranitu (51 ret.) who was forced to retire after posting a half-century. Solid contributions from Angus Argent-Smith (37*) and Cade Anderson (28) saw Diggers finish their innings on 4/169.
Tight bowling from Anderson (2/12), Maley (2/4) and Sean Garcia (2/3) saw Diggers able to take a 138-run victory.
Coro was able to make a strong start to their season. Exies was lead well by Bailey Morrissey (51*) while Kadon Williams (12) also contributed to see their side finish their innings on 109.
Coro's Cooper Rand (45) and Noah Kirkman (47*) made light work of the chase to see the Cougars take a nine-wicket win with 13.1 overs remaining.
