The response comes after The Area News enquired to council about the suitability of the road for large trucks after an accident involving a B-Double truck last week.
Council director of infrastructure and operations Phil King said the road is not an approved one for such vehicles.
"Scott Road is not approved for B-Double Heavy Vehicles," Mr King said.
The bridge was damaged after a truck scraped into the side railing of the bridge before colliding with a nearby resident's fence.

Mr King also indicated council will open discussions with Murrumbidgee Irrigation, who constructed the bridge, in order to decide who will pay for the repairs to the bridge.
"Council will need to enter into discussions with Murrumbidgee Irrigation to discuss the matter prior to committing to any repairs," he said.
"Council is responsible for the road related component.
"It is likely that Council will need to repair the barrier."
The bridge is the only method of crossing the canal which runs adjacent to Scott's Road, with another bridge along the road taken out by Murrumbidgee Irrigation over Winter.
