The bulk of the main construction will take place in late 2019, and the project is expected to be done and dusted by the end of 2020.
Some minor works have already begun; trees have been chopped down to make way for demountables, which have been installed as temporary classrooms during the construction period.
At the Griffith site there will be a new administration reception, a new outdoor decking area for open-air lessons, an open-plan area for teachers and admin staff, and several "flexible learning spaces".
At the Wade site several buildings will be re-purposed: one of them will be turned into a library featuring a performance and lecture area as well as multi-purpose conference rooms.
A new canteen will be built for one of the buildings, and the Wade High library will be refurbished into a new study and collaboration area for the teaching staff.

A NSW Department of Education spokesman said the capital works would constitute a major revamp.
"Murrumbidgee Regional High School will be receiving major upgrades to both its sites," the spokesman said.
"The improvements will benefit the whole school community, ensuring all students have access to a wide range of subject options and school facilities."
As construction continues, updates will be posted to the department's School Infrastructure website.
A grand opening is planned for early 2021.
