A DISQUALIFIED driver has been charged following a pursuit in Leeton where a police vehicle was allegedly rammed.

About 11.40am on June 28, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attempted to stop a green Holden Commodore ute travelling on Kurrajong Avenue after the male driver was identified as being disqualified from driving.
The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
However, it was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
Following inquiries, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District's Proactive Crime Team were conducting patrols in Linden Way, Leeton on June 30 when they noticed the same man driving a silver Holden Commodore along Wade Avenue, just after 11am.

It will be alleged as police attempted to stop the Commodore, it reversed into the police vehicle, causing the police vehicle to be spun around.
The driver was arrested after attempting to drive from the scene and taken to Leeton police station, where police searched the man and located methylamphetamine.
The 26-year-old man was charged with eight offences:
- Use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention etc.
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period - second offence (two counts)
- Possess prohibited drug.
- Police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously - second offence.
- Use class A vehicle displaying altered number plate.
- Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road.
- Use uninsured motor vehicle.
The man appeared in Griffith Local Court on July 1, where he was formally refused bail to appear in the same court on August 17.
