Peter Little from the Griffith Aero Club explained that the money would improve safety, vital for a volunteer organisation that supports emergency medical services such as NSW Ambulance and Angel Flight.
"Apart from the obvious uses of the amenities, the lounge area and soon to be opened pilot accommodation is an important safety aspect for pilots to satisfy their flight and duty rest times," he said.
He added that the Aero Club was incredibly grateful to Griffith council for their help in securing the grant.
The fund is part of a $2 billion program investing in regional NSW. The "Regional Growth Fund", works alongside the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund and is aimed at generating opportunities and advancement in regional areas.
