Voters around Griffith were looking for fresh faces and new perspectives as they cast their votes for the city's councillors.

Katie Green said she voted for change.
"I couldn't believe there's candidates who have been there more than 20 years," Ms Green said.
"I wanted to make sure there there's some fresh perspective."
Ms Green wanted to keep the current method of residents electing their mayor but felt there were too many councillors.
"If there's more people involved it takes longer to make a decision," she said.
Sandra Fattore wanted to see more female councillors to bring a different perspective to council's decision making.
"I want to se people who are youthful, have been in town a while and have a focus on the benefits of education," Ms Fattore said.
She said the city needed people to steer the city in the right direction, and build on what was already here in Griffith.
"I think previous councillors have done a great job but it's time for a fresh approach."
For Carlie and Jesse Doidge they were looking for representatives who would do something for Griffith.
"The development process feels a bit like a ball and chain and it feels like there's not progress," they said.

They felt council didn't often capitalise on some of the projects being undertaken by residents in the community, and council should take more a leadership role.
For council's projects like the Yambil Street upgrade they'd like to see more transparency about how it was running.
"We would like to see more for young adults, it would be a good way to include people in our community and bring our community together."
This was Bogdan Guevara's first local election, and making Griffith a better place for young people was his main concern.
"I like the idea of having a building where kids can escape from a dangerous situation, whether at home or in public," he said.
"Just a safe place for kids and adolescents."
