The Sixers got off to a good start, recording a comfortable win over the Strikers. The Sixers made 8/100 and held the Strikers to 14/79.
Josh Taprell led the way for the Sixers with 22 runs, Matilda Molloy did a great job in scoring 24, Jack Passlow added 23 and Harry Atkins chipped in with 19 runs.
Callum Metcalfe and Megh Chaudhari were the pick of the Strikers bowlers picking up two wickets each. Megh Chaudhari made 13 and Vaibhav Patel 16 for the Strikers.
Oscar Molloy also stood out for the Sixers with a bag of five wickets. Kitty Maher, Jack Passlow and Josh Tapprell all picked up two wickets for the Sixers.
The Scorchers got over the line in a close contest with the Stars. The Scorchers made 9/113 (ave 12.5) and the Stars replied with 8/66 (ave 8.37).
Levi Plum was in top form, hitting up 25 runs for the Scorchers. Rory Lasscock contributed 17, Harrison Palmer 15 and Toby Lasscock 14.
Hudson Crack, Owen Condon and Luca DeBortoli all took two wickets for the Stars. Hudson also top scored for the Stars with 13 runs.
Harjun Brar was next best with 10 runs. Levi Plum and Harrison Palmer both snared two wickets for the Scorchers.
The Thunder made a handy 8/91 (ave 11.3) and restricted the Heat to 10/40. Alec Brady with 30 runs and Archie Leach with 20 were the major contributors to the Thunders Scorers.
Jordy James put in good bowling spell to capture three wickets for the Heat and Koby Muirhead picked up two wickets.
Jordy also topped the run scoring for the Heat with 19 runs. Koby Muirhead gave good support with his 10 runs.
Charlie Bunn was on target with the bowling, capturing three wickets. Two wicket hauls went to Archie Leach, Alec Brady and Hugo Bunn.
Cricketer of the week for the first round is Oscar Molloy for his 11 runs and his devastating bowling spell which yielded five wickets for the Sixers.

Smith served up notice to other teams in the competition that they will be hard to beat this season.
Their batsmen scored an impressive 1/103 and then restricted Cummins to 7/69. Violet Leach showed the way with an innings of 22 for Smith. Reif Leach with 18 and Brad Whitworth with 17 gave good support.
Isaac Hill was the only wicket taker for Cummins finishing with 1/11.
Riley Sillis headed the score sheet for Cummins with 14 runs and Talon Williams made a handy 11.
Violet Leach and Archer Vaessen did the most damage for Smith finishing with 2/9 and 2/7 respectively.
Lyon recorded a solid win over Finch. Their score of 6/72 comfortably eclipsed the Finch score of 11/42. Lyon's top run scorers were Lachlan Spry with nine, Matthew Andrighetto, eight and Jake Suine, seven.
Finch's best bowling honours were shared between Chahatedeep Singh 2/7, Cody Lucas 2/8 and Anthony D'Ambrosio 2/15.
Most of Finch's runs came from Josh Pentony who made nine, Thomas Bray eight and Chahat Singh eight.
Nate Mingay was in form with the ball snaring four wickets for three runs. Jake Suine also made an impression finishing with 2/0.
It was hard to go past Nate Mingay's efforts in judging this week's award winner. His four wickets and six runs make him a worthy winner.
