The hard work that teachers in the Griffith community to educate and inspire the next generation has been recognised with the presentation of specially made cakes on World Teachers Day.

Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning said she encouraged communities to let teachers know just how important and valuable they are.
"Great teachers are at the heart of our schools and have a significant impact on young peoples' lives every said," Ms Mitchell said.
"I encourage everyone to take the time to recognise a teacher who has made a positive different to their own life or the life of their child."
Principal of Tharbogang Public School, Cheryle Clyde said the school was 'very blessed' to have such an amazing teaching staff.
"They are such a professional and caring group who go above and beyond to provide the best possible education for each and every student in their care," Mrs Glyde said.

"Their commitment and dedication to the students, staff and wider school community is outstanding. World Teachers Day is a small acknowledgement and appreciation for the fantastic job they all do very day of the year."
At both Beelbangera and Hanwood Public School, school support staff threw the teachers a special morning tea.
Principal of Hanwood PS, Monica St Baker took advantage of the celebratory occasion, presenting service medals to retired teachers from the school.
Murrumbidgee Regional High School Careers Adviser and Councillor for the NSW Teachers Federation Melina Ragusa said notes she has kept from students over the years remind her of the joys of teaching.
"I have a special folder and when I feel overwhelmed with work looking at them makes me smile," Mrs Ragusa said.
