More than 80 incoming students have been taking part in orientation transition sessions full of fun, friendship and learning to get them ready for the school year ahead.
Kindergarten teacher Eliza Tyndall the sessions were a great way to help the incoming students get comfortable for what will be a big change to their routines at home with mum and dad or at preschool.
"These transition sessions are so important because it helps the students not only become familiar with the kindergarten space but also the school environment," Miss Tyndall said.
"They also allow the students to get to know each other prior to starting next year and build friendships with children they might not already know."
According to Mrs Tyndall, hands on learning was a big focus for the sessions.
"All our activities are very hands on to keep the students engaged," Miss Tyndall said.
"A lot of what we do is linked to big books because we find children relate to the stories."

In a session that The Area News was in attendance, the children were read the classic and much loved children's novel, 'The Rainbow Fish'.
"Reading the Rainbow Fish opens the door to discussions about how each and every one of us is different in our own way and how that makes us all special," Miss Tyndall said.
The sessions also help the incoming student build upon their organisational skills by practicing routines such as getting their lunch boxes out, going to the toilet and more.
St Patrick's Principal Michael Morrell said it was 'very exciting' to see so many smiling faces enrolled in the program
"We have large numbers enrolled already for our 2022 kindergarten cohort, more than 80 so far," Mr Morrell said.
"To accommodate for this we have building works currently underway in the kindy room to open up some more space and provide a fourth learning area for students."
