Despite the efforts of the handicapper outstanding PB performances resulted in James Morshead (27minutes 24seconds) taking line honours in the long course. Brother Harry, (25minutes 4seconds) was 2nd and Hamish Gunn came in 3rd (21minutes 23 seconds).
Then to round out the top 10 came the veterans, Jeremy Woodhouse, Brendon Sinclair, John Keenan, Niva Scremin, Chris Morshead, (all with a PB) Sheila Marcus and Anthony Salmon.
Salmon would have scored a PB except that he wasted a few precious seconds picking himself up off the turf and assessing the damage to his ego, gloves and running pants.
In the long course competition Jeremy Woodhouse 136 points leads by 1 point over Hamish Gunn, then Anthony Salmon 127 points. This competition is wide open with a mere 23 points separating the top 10.
The Morshead boys James and Harry are on fire, Hamish Gunn is running consistent times, the question is "have the veterans got a little bit more in their tank to carry them through the next 3 runs in this competition?"
In the short course Kenny siblings Jai (13minutes 15second) and Ruby (16 minutes 32 seconds) were 1st and 2nd followed by Lynsey Pasin (18minutes 32 seconds).
