And whilst vaccination is not currently mandatory for Year 12 students, it is strongly recommended by NSW Health and the Department of Education to ensure HSC exams are able to be sat safely.
The 125 Year 12 students from Murrumbidgee Regional High School are set to receive their vaccinations from Griffith Medical Centre, after being identified as a priority vaccination group.
Principal David Crelley said that vaccination against the novel coronavirus was a 'great opportunity' for the students.
"Receiving their COVID-19 vaccination will be wonderful for our young adults who will not only be able to participate in HSC exams more safely, but have more freedoms in line with the rest of the community once lockdown ends," Mr Crelley said.
"Vaccination will be better for them and their health, their families and friends and the wider community."

Marian Catholic College Year 12 Pastoral Leader, Jonathon Morris said that the 81 Year 12 students from Marian would be receiving their first dose Pfizer vaccinations from the Griffith Vaccination Hub and would be fully vaccinated by the time HSC exams commence in November.
"I think it will be a sigh of relief for the students, they are keen to know more about what their HSC will look like and vaccination will allieve some of that anxiety," Mr Morris said.
"Many of our students have been very excited to take up the opportunity to get vaccinated, overall the cohort is very keen!"
And whilst vaccination is a step in the right direction, the real challenge will be keeping students motivated and engaged for the next two months until HSC exams officially commence.
