Leeton back to winning ways in Group 20 first grade against Yenda

The Blueheelers were able to strike first as after keeping the ball alive, Richie Bamblett was able to make a strong break before drawing the last defender and passing on the inside to Isaiah Potts, who raced away to score under the post.

The Greens hit back immediately as Hayden Philp spotted an outnumber off the back of a scrum and was able to send Brayden Scarr into a hole and he raced away to score in the corner, and it was two in quick succession as Philp was able to score after a 40/20 from Cameron Bruest.

The home side started to run away with the game as George Broome and Josh Fisher scoring before Jordan Demarzo scored a double before halftime to see Leeton leading 32-6 after the first 40 minutes.

Leeton made a flying start to the second half as, after making a break down the wing, Bruest was able to score under the post while Daniel Fisher pushed the lead out further.

James Fisher was able to get over despite the best efforts of the Yenda defence before the Blueheelers were able to hit back with Chris Latu barging his way over.

Feaa Tauneai continued the fightback for the Yenda side before the Leeton side was able to finish the game off in the final 10 minutes.

Josh Fisher scored his second try for the day before Sebastian Blackett and Morgan Wilesmith crossed for tries in the final six minutes to see Leeton pick up the two points.
