Further spectacular arrivals were to come. Mark Andreazza with PB sprinted across the long course finishing line to take first place, a few seconds later Allen Jones flashed past, then Rita Fascianelli-McIvor with a best pace for some time, five seconds later firing on all cylinders was Hamish Gunn then one second later Chris Barbagallo and Ashley Pianca crossed the line together.
The long course Yellow Cap, Andrea Cromack, was a scratching for the 3rd stage of the Tour de Hill Surfer competition. Hamish Gunn's gun performance has propelled him to the leaders position in the long course competition.
With 77 points Gunn will wear the Yellow Cap for the 4th stage of the Tour de Hill. To retain the Yellow Cap, he will need to strive for PB's as Chris Barbagallo on 72 points and Allen Jones on 70 are in contention to steal the cap.
Stages 5-8 of the Tour have an extra 1.6km added to the course which may upset some of the sprinters and open the way for the stayers.

The short course saw a much-improved Tania Moore on top of the podium for the first time, she was followed home by Andrew Maher, then fastest female Isabella Salmon, fastest male Nate Mingay was 4th, a PB for Peggy Carpender in 5th place and Harry Morshead 6th.
Morshead on 95 points retains the short course Yellow Cap but could lose it if Tania Moore continues to improve or Nate Mingay could make the high scoring top three.
Of the 32 starters in the short course 19 were walkers. Based on starting and finishing times it is easy to see that some talk the walk, Janelle & Donna, Liz & Michelle, Lyn & Judith, Juliana & Georgina, Alana & Michelle.
