The last time the Black and Whites took to the field in first grade was on May 30, when they picked up an 82-0 win over TLU Sharks.

That was their fourth win on the trot after coming off an opening round defeat to Leeton before having the week off due to Hay not fielding a first-grade side, followed by the long weekend and then having their first club bye of the season last weekend.

Coach Andrew Lavaka said his troops are looking forward to getting back out on the field.

"Everyone is really keen to get back out there after the long break, but that is just the way the draw works," he said.

"It just going to be exciting to get back out there and play some footy."

Despite having the long break with little footy, some of the first graders did take to the field in reserves against the Magpies, Lavaka is hopeful it won't affect his side too badly.

"Match fitness, you'd be hoping that at this time of year you would be peaking," he said.

"I feel that it is time to get the boys back out on the field because any longer of a rest probably would have hurt."

The time off gave a good chance for the side to work on things, but Lavaka felt it was better to stick to what has been working with the side currently sitting third on the table, just a win behind West Wyalong.

"We have just been keeping it basic and just trying to keep the boys active over the long break," he said.

"It has been a good chance for some of the boys to nurse any sort of niggles that they might have picked up."

This weekend will see the Black and Whites take on a Yenda side who will be looking to maintain their good run of form over the last couple of rounds.

The Blueheelers picked up their first win of the season before the long weekend against TLU Sharks before backing that up with a come-from-behind win over Yanco-Wamoon last weekend and will be looking to keep in touch with the top five as they are currently a win outside the top five.

The Black and Whites coach knows to expect a tough test out on their home track.

"After winning last week, they will be coming off a high, and I'm pretty sure they will continue their form," he said.

"I know they will be strong at home, and I'm expecting a physical match from them."
