The third round of the Southern Inland Junior Rugby Union saw the competition split between Tumut, Temora, and West Wyalong, with the Under 6s, 10s, 12s and 14s sides, and the U15s Rugby 7s all at West Wyalong last Sunday.

The Griffith Blacks U16s kicked of round three with a match against the Tuskers, under lights at the Temora Recreation Ground on Friday night. Despite some ill-discipline, the Blacks proved too strong on the night running away with a 57-19 win.
Despite playing one less game, the Blacks hold down top spot from the Leeton Phantoms.
In West Wyalong the Griffith Juniors came away with 8 wins from 10 games.
The Short Blacks Under 10s side are a work in progress and are making great strides in their development. Only a converted try separated the Blacks and the Wyalong Pirates, with Griffith earning two bonus points in their 30-27 loss.
In their second match, the Short Blacks went down 12-34 to one of the age division's front runners, the Temora Tuskers.
The Blacks U12s racked up another cricket score as they outplayed the Temora Tuskers, winning to the tune of 81-7. They backed this up with a 58-17 win over the host club, the Wyalong Pirates.
The highlight of the day was the willingness to assist the opposing side, who were down on player numbers. The zeal in which they played for the opposition was reward with the Blacks scoring all the tries against their club mates.
The two wins, see the Blacks consolidate their position in the top four, but will face the unbeaten Young Yabbies and the tough Cootamundra sides in upcoming rounds.

The Griffith Under 14s continued their early season form and have maintained their unbeaten start to the season with 39-19 and 40-0 wins over the Tuskers and West Wyalong.
Looking ahead the clash against the Young Yabbies, the only other undefeated side in the competition, in round 6 will be one to watch.
The Griffith Blackbirds U15s Rugby 7s remain the only unbeaten side following a double-header against the Temora Tuskers. The Tuskers pushed the Blackbirds in both games however could not shut down Griffith's dynamic try scorers with Griffith winning 28-17 and 38-20.
The fourth round will see the Griffith Juniors host their second gala day of the year on 6 June and will host the Phantoms, the Grenfell Panthers, Temora, and West Wyalong.
