It was a tight clash at Ron Crowe Oval with the Mallee Men able to strike first through returning co-coach Jake Goodwin.
West Wyalong would return to winning ways scoring another two tries while Waratahs crossed twice including a try to co-coach Kose Lelei as the Mallee Men were able to hold on to take a 20-12 victory.
The win sees the Mallee Men leap frog Waratahs and climb into third on the ladder just behind the Black and Whites on points difference.

The Waratahs are sitting on the border of finals position in fifth having made a mixed start to the season with two wins and two losses from their opening two games.
The Mallee Men face a tough task in taking on defending premiers Darlington Point Coleambally on their home track on Sunday while the Waratahs face a challenge of their own when they play host the undefeated Leeton Greens.
