Tolland headed into the weekend with three wins from their three games while Hanwood came in off the back of a tough hit out with Junee.
It proved to be as close a clash as it looked on paper, with Alana Marando, Johane Oberholzer and Nicola Zanotto finding the back of the net in a game that ended in a 3-all draw.
The result means Hanwood stay in third three points behind Young and Tolland, who are sitting at the top of the table with 10 points.
