Further down the pack was the tussle for positions 7-8-9. From the bottom of the aerodrome track to the near top of Dom's Dilemma Mark Hancock, Adrian Piccoli and Ron Anson were no further than two metres apart and the narrow margin of 4 seconds separated their net times. Nothing like having someone breathing down your neck to fuel the competitive spirit. Moreno Chaippin with 122 point remains leader of the long course competition.
In the short course Jack Jasnos claimed his fourth 1st place out of 5 runs on the "Hill". He also leads the short course competition by 7 points. Jasnos was followed by Harry Morshead 2nd, Nate Mingay 3rd, and 36 other participants. Donna Jackson in 39th place was heavily handicapped with a grandchild who walked most of the way, but not all the way.
