Hay would have had a home game, and Griffith would have had a home game, and if played, could have tightened the results going into the final game yesterday.

It was not to be as Hay travelled to Narrandera, and I must admit that Narrandera has the best greens in the Riverina. They were running extremely well, and should be congratulated.

On rink four, we had Phill Ruddick, Anne Thomas, John Lucas and Geoff Lucas, up against J Gibson, D Hoffman, S Grehringer and M Thorton.

Lucas struggled until the 11th end at 11 to 13 but conceded some big numbers, finally going down 37 to 15.

On rink six, Jamie Thomas, Ricky Dickson, Peter Lugsdin and Paul Kretchmer struggled all day against W Kilet, G McComber, J Harrison and C Morgan, Kretchmer just could not handle the pace of the greens and was 10 to nil after three ends, he was down 24 to 7 after 13 ends, finally going down 31 to 14.

On rink five, Nathan Crocker, Lee Young, Steve Smith and Jim Ovens fort tooth and nail against J Ingram, R Durnan, P Durnan and I Black.

After 2nd end, Ovens and Co were in front, then Blacky and his crew got into second gear and controlled the game.

They didn't have to get out of second gear for the rest of the day with a convincing win with 10 single scores and four multiples of 20 to 10.

Again with the best greens, Narrandera showed why they are on top, winning 88 to 39.
