In race 1 of the Bacchus competition Vecchio finished with 5 points, but then went on to win the competition. In a 10-week competition there is always the chance of a strong come-back.
Bacchus Long course champion Vince Restagno who recently returned to form after a hamstring injury felt a twinge in the upper hamstring and decided to back off taking a bit over an hour to complete the 6.1km course.
