It was a weekend of mixed results for the Griffith FC sides as they took on Belconnen United out at Hanwood Oval on Saturday.

The under 13s were able to maintain their strong start to the season with an 8-1 victory to start the action.
Joseph Romeo got the scoring underway while goals to Angelo Licastro and Ryan Calabria scored before halftime to give Griffith a 3-0 lead at the break.
The Griffith FC side was able to run away with the game in the second half, with Christian Dall'est and Romeo finding the back of the net before Calabria was able to score three quick goals in the dying stages of the game to bring his total in the game to four and see Griffith FC take the convincing win.
In the other early game, the under 16s were able to pick up their first point of the season in a back and forth 3-all draw.

The Belconnen side was able to take the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute, but Jake Calabria found the equaliser four minutes later.
The visitors again took the lead just after the half-hour mark, but Calabria was again able to find the back of the net quickly after.
Calabria completed his hat-trick just before halftime to give his side the lead heading into the break.
With 19 minutes left in the match, Belconnen was able to find their third goal of the afternoon to see the sides finished level.
In the under 14s, Samuel Patane found the back of the net in a 1-1 draw, while the under 18s will have to wait another week as they search for their first victory after falling to a 1-0 defeat.
