The course played long again last weekend for the 65 players who contested a single stableford last Saturday with scoring at a premium.
Max Turner 36 points won A Grade, nailing a birdie on the 11th, on a countback over Wayne Bottcher, runner-up also on 36 points, canning a birdie on the 15th.
Robert Trembath 36 points was best in B Grade, carding seven pars over Brad Clark 35 points with six pars.
Daniel Bergamin 37points won C Grade, carding seven pars on a countback over Stephen Lightfoot 37 points, nailing a birdie on the 4th.
Patrick Payne won the 4th pin, John Brennick 7th, James Lethlean 8th, Ryan Grieve 11th, Wayne Bottcher 15th, Andrew Noad 16th.
The rain and threat of it did not deter 34 players from contesting Sunday's medley single stableford in two grades.
The Div.1 players thrived in the heavy conditions, Anthony Ross won with a high 41 points, Alf Franchi 40 points only good enough for second.
Skeet Milne 32 points won Div.2 on a countback overo Geoff Cotterill 32 points.
Club Champ Matt Staines again fired a sub-par round of 65 off the stick, six under par, playing off -4 for 38 points.
The First Round of the Rod McNabb Caltex Handicap Matchplay was completed last Saturday with G.l Hartnett d D. Guglielmino 19th, and will play B.Salvestro, who defeated J. CAfe 5/4. B.Polkinghorne d Paul Connell 5/4 to play J. Badoco, who defeated R. Cappello 4/3. Mark Townsend w/o plays Nathan Campbell, who defeated A. Smith 4/3.A. Franchi d G. Campbell 19th. to play B. Angel who beat T. Catanzariti 3/2.
