Some hot scores were recorded in a single stroke which was also the qualifier for the Caltex Single Handicap Matchplay.
Club Pro James Lethlean, playing in his final local competition, let it all hangout and fired a six-under-par round of 65, shooting five-under par 34 out with five birdies, then home in one under par 34 to card 67 nett.
However, he did not win, beaten on a countback by Martin Sweeney who fired three over par 74 to also card 67 nett, shooting 37 on each nine, nailing birdies on the first and 16th.
Gary Hartnett 68 nett won B Grade, 86 off the stick, nailing a birdie on the 15th. Grant Gyles 70 nett runner-up, 88 scratch, draining a birdie on the 13th.
Ryan Grieve 68nett won C Grade, carding five pars in shooting 82 ahead of Chris Gill 69 nett, firing 90, draining a birdie on the 16th.
Brad Lemon won the 4th pin, Barry Stapleton 7th, Jason Magoci 8th, Allan Andreazza 11th, Gary Hartnett 15th, Andrew Noad 16th.
Vouchers went to 76 nett.

The Pro-Am was Club Pro James Lethlean's swan song at the Club as Director of Golf, leaving to reside in Adelaide. All Club members wish him well and thank him for his expertise, support and friendship.
A replacement should be appointed in the near future.
Some green renovation will be done during the next week.
A Successful Pro-Am, sponsored by B & C Barrington Plumbing was held last Monday with 50 professionals and around 122 amateurs.
All events this week, including Sunday, are single stablefords.
The veterans played a two-grade single stableford last Thursday.
Barry Stapleton continues to break handicap since his comeback, winning Div.1, carding 42 points, taking ten shots off his handicap since his comeback. Joe Cudmore 37 points second.
Peter Den Houting 41 points easily won Div.22 from Cam Woodside 36 points.
Tony McBride won the 4th and 15th pins, Ray Mead 8th.
Another single stableford this week with a shotgun start at 9.00am.
