Having taken on Hay three times already this year, twice in Creet and once in Hedditch, Griffith captain Jimmy Binks was looking forward to the new challenger.
"After three representative games this year if they were going to win one it was going to be last weekend they gave it all that they could," he said.
"It was good to see someone new come over in West Wyalong."
With the Creet side having seen off two challengers already this season Binks is happy with how the side has progressed.
"Having someone like Jack Rowston come in the other day and bat as well as he did was good," he said.
"To have Ben Signor, Charlie Cunial and Ben Rowston come in and bowl as well. They made a massive contribution.
"We know that whoever we are able to get on the field this weekend, it will be a decent little side."
There is a downside heading into this weekend with one of the main contributors from last week set to miss the clash.
"I know that Reece Matheson and Jack Rowston are both out this weekend and they will both be pretty big losses for us," he said.
If there is one positive that can be taken is that they won't lose any of their other key players to play Hedditch Cup.
There was set to be a challenge for Hedditch however Junee withdrew on Monday meaning Griffith will only need to field one side on Sunday.
Binks was quick to dismiss any chance of stacking the Creet side.
"We have made a deal out of not fielding the likes of Haydn Pascoe and Theo Valeri," he said.
"We might be able to hold onto someone like Floody (Alex Flood) or someone like that which would add a massive string to our bow.
"There are probably a couple of blokes on the fringe of Hedditch who will be able to play Creet which will be massive."
Binks said while he doesn't fully know what to expect, he knows it will be a tough clash.
The Creet Cup challenge will get underway at 10.30am on Sunday at Exies No 1.
