While the Riverina Lions have withdrawn, the competition will expand from seven teams to eight this season with Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong and Collingullie-Glenfield Park entering the fray.
The seven-round regular season will be played on Friday nights, beginning on February 12, with finals night set down for Easter Thursday.
Swans coach Trevor Richards said he has been pleased with the numbers who have put their hand up thus far.
"It is one of those tough ones because the season starts so early in the year and it can be tough to get people to training because they are away or can't make it due to work commitments," he said.
"I think we are doing ok numbers-wise obviously you would never mind a couple of extras.
"Normally we would train on Tuesdays, but due to Australia Day, we moved it to Wednesday. Hopefully we get a few down there because if we didn't start this week, there is only a couple of weeks before the season starts."
Richards has welcomed the newest additions to the competition say it shows the growth of women's AFL in the region.
"It has been exciting the last couple of years. The girls' footy has definitely grown and getting more and more popular," he said.
"It will be good to have a couple of new teams to run around and have a look at."
