The rainfall predicted for Thursday and particularly Friday, with the Bureau of Meteorology saying between 15-30mm could fall (as of Wednesday afternoon) there could be yet another weather-affected weekend in the 2020/21 season.
No club has been more impacted by the weather than Exies Diggers this season, having had five games abandoned due to hot or wet weather and this weekend could be their sixth.
Even with the interrupted season, captain Trevor Richards is content with his side's performance thus far.
"We have missed a lot of games through weather, and I think we have only played six games," he said.
"In a lot of those games we have probably had one really bad game where we didn't give ourselves a chance, but outside of that, we have been in with a chance in the rest of them.
"We have also had quite a few games where we have been missing players.
"When you are missing players, it can be quite difficult, but everyone is in the same boat."
This weekend will see another key player miss their fixture with Exies Eagles as they look to reclaim third place.
"Luke Peruzzi is out, but outside of that I think everyone else should be right," he said.
"Luke is probably one of the best bowlers in the comp. Week in week out he shows up and does the same thing with the ball, and he very rarely gets hit around at all.
"He is a more than capable opener as well and has been doing quite well with the bat. He will be a big loss, but it gives a chance for someone else to step up."
The two clashes between the two sides have been tight affairs with less than 10 runs separating them with both games going right until the final over.
"We won the first one by about six runs, and it went the whole 100 overs and the second game was much the same it went right down to the wire, and they got over the top of us in the end," he said.
"Both games against them have been tight, and I don't expect this week will be any different."
