The Yoogali side faced off with Wagga City Wanderers at Solar Mad Stadium and thanks to strong defensive performances from both sides the points were shared with a 0-0 draw.
Yoogali SC coach Sante Donadel felt the result was a fair reflection on a tightly fought contest.
"We probably needed the win, but it was an entertaining game," he said.
"Both teams played really well, and it could have gone either way at the end of the day.
"It was nill-all, and it was easy to see why. Both sides defences played really well."
There were a couple of chances for both side's late in the game with Wagga unable to capitalise on a mistake at the back from Samuel Raciti with Liam Roddie getting across to provide a block while for Yoogali, Mason Donadel sent Jordan Serene on a run down the wing, but he was unable to control his shot and blasted over.
Donadel felt it came down to fitness levels in the end as the sides battled it out in warm conditions but was overall pleased with his side's performance.
"It was pretty warm today, and it showed in the end with both sides getting tired and the last 15 minutes was a bit scrappy," he said.
"Defensively all over the park I felt we were good.
"I felt like we controlled the last 20 minutes of the first half really well, but we just made a couple of wrong decisions and not completing our passes, but you have to give credit to them.
"They defended really well as a team."
It now leaves Yoogali knowing that they will need to pick up two wins from their final two games.
They now sit just outside the finals places on 10 points level with Wagga, Brindabella and O'Connor heading into the final two rounds which will see the side hit the road and as they don't play any of the teams ahead of them they will be hoping that results will fall in their favour.
The under 23s have a game in hand against ANU which was cancelled due to COVID concerns while they will head to Canberra to take on second-placed Weston Molonglo who will be full of confidence after following a 14-1 win over Queanbeyan City.
