The Morshead boys, Harry and James, seem to have had a social walk judging by their equal net time.
Why not take in the scenery? The surprise was Aidan Hill doing the short course, especially as he is the fastest so far to complete the long course.
Adrian Piccoli was first in the 6.0km long course with Chris Barbagallo 2nd and an inform Michael Turnell 3rd.
Karen Penninga was the first woman to complete the run.
The handicapper might be busy this week as 15 of the 66 people doing the long course shaved more than a minute off their last weeks' time. There were a few that went the other way.
In the short course, Louise Gunn was 56seconds faster this week. Mum Tara Gunn and Renae Savage were considerably quicker this week, but it seems last week, they took things easy and enjoyed the vista of the course.
The committee will have a Zoom meeting on Monday 13th July and will review the current plan for returning to regular runs.
The current plan is, the first four weeks of the Surfer 6.0km and 3.3km to be virtual, and the second four weeks of the (extended) Surfer 7.6km to be back to normal with the 4:30pm start time.
For those who feel uncomfortable meeting as a group, an extension of the current virtual arrangement will be in place.
Why are we called the Feral runners?
According to Life Member, Bob Barker the Feral part of the name came from a discussion about hunting with crossbows.
The discussion took place in the back garden of a house that backed onto Scenic Hill.
As it happened, a jogger ran past while the discussion raged, and was therefore included in the list of feral species to be hunted.
For many years, Feral was the title bestowed on those who went on the team bus to Sydney for the City to Surf.
As times changed and incorporation was needed for insurance, the title of Feral was included in the official name of the club.
