Griffith Golf Club professional James Lethlean said it has been fantastic to see so many players on the course.
"The competition fields have increased in numbers throughout the period and also just the general public who have been coming out to play golf," he said.
"There is probably no better form of social distancing when it comes to golf. You are not really coming into close contact with anyone.
"Like any business or facility, we are complying with everything we have to do with hygiene."
At the start of the pandemic, there was confusion about whether golf clubs would be able to remain open with closures announced at the end of March before they reopened two days later.
Lethlean was thankful they were able to keep the doors open feeling that the industry has really blossomed in a difficult period.
"I think it has been the case for golf across the board," he said.
"Victoria had their golf course shut for quite a while, and we were probably fortunate we didn't have to shut at all. Talking to other guys in the golf industry, everyone has seemed to have benefited from it."
Over the weekend number in excess of 100 people taking to the course on Saturdays when they would typically be struggling to reach 30.
Lethlean said the numbers he has seen come through the door over the last couple of months had been the best he has seen during his time at the club.
"Since COVID-19 basically started it has been fantastic for us, and hopefully that will be able to continue," he said
"I think people are just coming out here to see the product that we have got and how good it is at the moment. If they enjoy it, they will continue to come back.
"The membership numbers have increased a little bit as well, which is obviously a bit of a benefit from what has gone on. Hopefully, that will continue to go the way it is.
"If we can get more people coming out here, becoming members and playing on a regular basis, we will be in good shape."
