After the Group 20 board made their decision two weeks ago, the Magpies committee tried to find other avenues to give their plays a football fix.
However, via a statement on Facebook, the club has made the tough decision to call time on their season.
"As most of you would be aware Hay was one of two G20 Clubs to vote yes to the season continuing and hopes of getting games organised between the Magpies and a few other teams from around the region has not eventuated," the statement read.
"President Jack Byrnes has put much effort into working on getting a competition of sorts for our club, but due to a number of other teams pulling out this will not go ahead.
"The committee is disappointed that will not be seeing the black & white hit the field this year, we have done all we could."
The club will now focus their resource into preparing for the 2021 Group 20 season.
"The Hay Magpies will now need to move forward and build up to 2021 being the year of the Magpies," they said.
"We will hope to have some Club functions in the near future as COVID restrictions allow. We look forward to building our club to a great season in 2021."
