Not just a powerhouse on sand, the Australian beach volleyball champion captivated her audience with evocative stories of her journey to success.
She shared insight into overcoming a knee injury which many thought wiped out her chance of ever going to the Olympics - even getting over a surprising aversion to sand.

She touted the importance of not only writing down goals but the power of visualising and throwing it out to the world for accountability.

Soroptimist Griffith president Sue Ruskin said Kerri was "absolutely fabulous".
"She has achieved so much, and talking to her, she can relate to anything you tell her, with advice that really keeps you motivated," she said.

Soroptimist Louise Miller was there on that fateful day, watching Kerri and her partner Natalie Cook claim the gold at the 2000 Olympics.
"Some of the photos I took then were used today, and it's really special thinking back now and realising you captured a piece of history," she said.
