Hanwood won the toss and elected to bat, but their innings didn't get off to the best start with a bouncer from Theo Valeri hitting Brendan Hicken and forcing him off to get cut above the eye fixed up.
Brad Hornery and Oliver Bartter tried to get their side moving in the right direction before Bartter (12) was bowled by Conlan who followed it up with the wickets of Jarryd Day (2) and Hornery (14).
Dean Catanzariti and Micheal Crosato put on 24 before Conlan completed his five-wicket haul with the wickets of Catanzariti (14) and Charlie Cunial (0).
Crosato and Jack Rowston pushed their side towards the 100-mark before Ben Fattore picked up the wicket of Crosato (31).
Hicken's (6) return to the crease was short-lived as he was dismissed by Dean Aylett (3/13) with the spinner following it up with the wickets of Tom (0) and Angus Bartter (0) before Fattore (2/12) ended Hanwood's innings on 110 with the wicket of Rowston (16).
Matt Peruzzi and Jake White were able to put on 16 at the top of the order for Diggers before Peruzzi was caught off the bowling on Cunial (1/27).
Diggers found their footing despite the loss of the early wicket with Tom Valeri joining White in the middle, and the pair were able to put their side on track to take the 12 points.
In a partnership of 53, Valeri and White were able to get their side to within 42 runs of victory before Valeri (33) fell to the bowling of Catanzariti (1/19) while Angus Bartter (1/31) was able to take the wicket of White (19) in the following over.
It made little impact on Diggers however as over the next eight overs Diggers skipper Theo Valeri (22*) and Matt Crack (19*) were able to steer their side to a comfortable seven-wicket win.
The 12 points gained from an outright win sees Diggers leapfrog Hanwood into second spot on the ladder and maintain their three-point gap to top of the table Coro with the two sides set to face off next weekend.
