Tom Bartter (20) made a strong start at the top of the order for the Hanwood side while Inam Ullah (10), Oliver Bartter (15) and Daniel Whitworth got runs in the middle order.
Michael Cudmore (3/10) did the damage with the ball for the Panthers while Patrick Gunn (2/16) and Enzo Nolan (2/14) were also among the wicket-takers as Hanwood were bowled out for 129.
The Panthers top order of Patrick Payne (19), Noah Gaske (25) and Cudmore (12) gave their side a chance of achieving victory. With the score on 3/108 heading into the final overs, the Panthers needed 21 runs off the remaining 12 deliveries with Sam Payne (26), and Patrick Gunn (19) at the crease and trouble stuck in the search for quick runs. The side lost their final six wickets for six runs to see the Panthers bowled for 114 and give Hanwood the 15-run victory.
Diggers fell just four runs short of picking up their first win of the season when they took on Exies.
The bowling of Ben Fattore (3/8), Angus Argent-Smith (2/10) and Anurag Dhot (2/12) ripped through the Exies line-up and if not for Billy Evans (18) and Jacob Testoni (18) the Eagles score would have looked worse as they were bowled out for 72.
Diggers lost a couple of early wickets with Ryan Bock (2/3) and Testoni (1/8) doing the early damage but Ryan Garcia (16) and Fattore got their side back on track and had Fattore (31*) been able to get the strike in the final over they may have been able to come away with a memorable win.
