The talented year six student came in second after a countback after jumping a personal best of 1.69m to fall just a centimetre under the record of 1.70m which has stood since 2002.
It is a great effort to see the student jump over his high with Christian coming in at the height of 1.55m.
The talented athlete said he was happy with his performance at the carnival.
"It was a good experience," he said.
"I got my personal best and had a crack at the record but sadly didn't get it. I am just there for the experience and to have a bit of fun."
The youngster was quick to thank his parents for their help preparing him for the competition.
"I have had a lot of training and help from my parents to get that far," he said. "They have been helping me train every weekend."
It has been a successful year for Christian who broke the Griffith East Public School high jump record on a challenging day when he was able to jump 1.54m in wet and slippery conditions.
Christian was also able to take out the gold medal at the Little Athletics State Competition in March with a jump of 1.53m.
