"This way it's locals buying for locals," she said.
With many families here struggling with the drought and unemployment, she knows many will have to go without, and is excited to give them some festive cheer.
Kmart Store manager Corey Martin said it was so exciting for him, knowing the gifts will be going to people they have come to know.

"My favourite thing is to see the team connecting with the community, buying gifts for others here and the team here have really gotten on board," he said.
With staff given a card each to buy a gift from the store to the community, the bins at the front were filling fast.
He also thanked students from Marian Catholic College who donated their time for face-painting and caroling at the Thursday launch.
