Three firetrucks will be burning a 1.4 hectare area at the rear of Lawford Crescent in a bid to reduce bushfire risks in the leadup to summer.
Griffith NSW Rural Fire Service operational manager Stephen Kada warned people to limit their exposure to the smoke, particularly if they have asthma.
"The best option for residents in the vicinity is to keep doors and windows closed, get the washing off the line, and keep any pets in protected areas or inside the house," Mr Kada said.
"Anyone driving across Lawford Crescent, Blumer Avenue, or Clifton Boulevard should slow down and turn on their headlights if there is smoke over the road."
