Saturday 7th September saw many players and spectators brave the cold weather for the first round of Griffith Netball Association's semi finals.

The 10yrs division 1 v 2 saw 1st place, Keep It North, take the win over 2nd place Coro Firebirds, 9 goals to 0. This great win sees Keep It North advance straight into the grand final. Coro Firebirds will now play off against Griffith Pet Resort next week.
The 11yrs division game between 1st place Elders Lightening and 2nd place South Grove Angels went goal for goal all the way to the final buzzer, pushing the game in to extra time. The air was electric with excitement and the cheers from the anxious supporters on the sideline but in the end it was South Grove Angles who came out on top, winning 17 goals to 15 and securing their position in the grand final.
Elders Lightening will take on CPS Bluebirds next week after their 4 point win against All Stars.
The 12yrs division 1 v 2 Semi final was played between R & B Diggers and Ladybirds. This was another hard fought final that once again had the spectators screaming on the sideline as the game moved in to extra time. R & B Diggers hit their stride in the extra time pushing the score to a three goal lead.
They now progress straight through to the grand final. The 3 v 4 final sees CSP Bluebirds progress to the preliminary finals after defeating All Stars 16 goals to 12. They will now play off against Ladybirds next week.
MIA Coaches D Grade 1st place Xquisite Dolphins held their good form in the semi final to secure their spot in the grand final by besting Flavourtech Firebirds 32 - 28, whilst the 3 v 4 game saw an upset as 4th place Midstate Gunns rose to the occasion defeating 3rd place Bardney Metal Fabrication.
Flavourtech Firebirds and Midstate Gunns will now play off next week in the preliminary finals.
Griffith Aboriginal Medical Centre C Grade 1 v 2 final could have went either way with only 2 points the difference on the final whistle but in the end it was the 2nd place Rep 13s who were victorious. JBS Thunderbirds will now play off against Rep 12s, who won on a forfeit, in the preliminaries.
Owen Toyota B Grade's SJR Industries showed why they are in 1st place, securing the win over Deadlies 33 goals to 22, to advance to the grand final. In the 3 v 4 final EM Photography proved too strong for AES Rockets, winning 37 - 28. They will now face Deadlies in the preliminaries.
Athletes Foot A Grade saw a great clean game between BMF and Casellas. The first half went goal for goal but after taking a lead in the third quarter BMF settled into the game taking the win 34 -24 and progressing to the grand final.
Casellas face another tough match next week as they play off against CRF Plumbing/Citrus Motel who defeated Swifts 29 goals to 21.
