The Roosters are heading into the weekend having seen off elimination twice in the past two weeks with a 38-28 win over Leeton before sending out Yanco-Wamoon with a 44-10 win at home in the minor semi-final to be one-step away from their first grand final appearance since 2015.
Mallee Men coach Jake Goodwin said his side would be looking to make the most of having the preliminary final at home.
"It is definitely an advantage for us," he said.
"It gives us more time to prepare because we don't have to spend time travelling across."
After the 20-12 loss to the Waratahs in the major semi-final, Goodwin knows his side needs to improve if they want a chance at redemption.
"We played terribly last weekend, it was our worst game of the season," he said.
"It was a pretty scrappy game all round with Waratahs not playing that well either. This week will just be about focusing on not making mistakes.
"I guess if that performance was coming it is better to get it out of the way while you still have the second chance rather than this weekend or in the grand final.
"We also picked up a couple of injuries from the game last weekend, but we are confident in the players who will be filling the spot."
The Mallee Men do have a perfect record in the head-to-head with the Roosters having picked up two wins from two games, but Goodwin isn't taking too much notice of those results.
"It is a completely different series now," he said.
"Finals football is do-or-die, and all it takes is a couple of mistakes to change the game."
With the Roosters possessing a number of attacking threats, the Mallee Men coach knows his team will have to watch out for a former Group Nine opponent.
"We just have to control the middle," he said.
"If we are able to it should limit the opportunities for Ben Jeffery. You can't afford to give him any chances.
"Ryan McGoldrick and Josh Veivers are also big factors in their attack alongside Jeffery."
The preliminary final action at Ron Crowe Oval will get kick off with the under 16s clash between the Mallee Men and Leeton getting underway at 10am.
The first-grade clash between West Wyalong and Darlington Point Coleambally will get underway at around 3.15pm
