Last Tuesday the Christmas Working Group was given the green light by Griffith City Council to start searching for sponsors to help buy Christmas lights.
Griffith City Council have already set aside $30,000 in the 2019/20 budget, but the working group has grander plans for this year's festive seasons.
To that end they'll be looking for business and community sponsorships to help decorate a tree, block, installation, or to donate to the project in general.

They've also submitted an application for a $70,000 "Bright Lights on Banna" My Community Grant, and if it is deemed eligible people in the Murray electorate will be able to vote for it from July 15 to August 15.
Votes can be cast at the Service NSW centre or website, and if it gets enough votes the grant will be approved in September this year.
The Christmas Working Group is chaired by Councillor Dino Zappacosta, who wanted to make up for 2018's underwhelming Christmas display.
"They are a fabulous, energetic, and enthusiastic working group," Cr Zappacosta said.
"They would like to see Griffith light up as much as possible and have come up with some great ideas."
They've drawn up a Christmas master plan for Banna Avenue and Memorial Gardens, but they're also floated the idea of stringing lights up and down Yambil Street and around some of the shopping plazas.
They want to use the lights for other occasions, such as SpringFest, Easter, the Sikh games, or other community events throughout the year.
The ideas are in no short supply, so the only limiting factor will be the budget.
The idea was enthusiastically supported by Councillor Simon Croce, who was inspired by his recent trip to the Vivid light festival in Sydney.
"A few lights make a big difference," Cr Croce said.
"This may become something that we're well known for; this could be our Parkes Elvis."
Draft copies of the Christmas masterplan can be found on the Griffith City Council website.
